A family church based in the heart of East Kilbride
Update from Church Elders
We are following the advice of the Baptist Union of Scotland to implement fully the Government’s instructions for slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Things have changed dramatically over the past couple of days.
Therefore, all the activities that come under the banner of Westwood Baptist Church including the Sunday Services and Home Groups will stop until further notice. However, the Foodbank will continue to operate a slimmed down service from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoons. Clients will collect food bags without spending time remaining in the building.
This is a painful time for us all but we need to be cooperative citizens, especially looking to support the NHS staff at this extremely worrying time for them, by adhering to the advice we have been given.
Although this will be a difficult time we are still a church family. We are going to do all we can to keep communication lines open through messages, reflections and information on our website and Facebook page. We will be maintaining contact with one another through regular phone calls and messages. We can make this time as an opportunity to shine with the love of Christ. We can be good, supportive, loving and helpful neighbours to those around us who need reassurance.
As we say, we’ll keep in touch and we’ll regularly post messages etc, so although we are scattered, we shall do all we can to live as community whilst not being in community.
We promise to keep you up to date.
Pray for our NHS staff.
Pray for our Government.
Pray for the vulnerable and anxious throughout the world.
Pray for the day we will be back together in celebration.
Keep praying –
‘The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world’ (1 John 4:4).

Welcome from Mark
Westwood Baptist Church is not about the building – it’s about the people. We are varied folks, yet who consider ourselves to be one.
We seek to be much more than a group who get together for a Church Service on a Sunday.
We seek to build community – a family – where people feel they can be free to be themselves.
True Christianity is the discovery of who Jesus really is and what that means for us. We want to help people find it for themselves.
Our desire is to reveal and demonstrate the love of Christ – because it is in Him that fullness of life is to be found. When you come amongst us, we want you to feel like you’ve come home!

Deeper, Closer & Wider
DEEPER as disciples
We want our church to be a place of rich, fertile soil that encourages deep roots of growth.
We want to help you mature in your personal walk with God.
CLOSER as community
We want to build community, it is part of our DNA.
We seek to build a close community… a family… a real fellowship where all the find the church to be a safe community place.
WIDER in our witness
As a church we want to share our faith. To share the good news about Jesus. We want our church to be a light in the community, our workplaces, neighbourhoods and social circles.
